Ready for some new inspiration for your home? Paint companies can help.
Every year, house paint brands announce a new paint color for the new year to spark your imagination and help to create your perfect space.
Following are some of the colors of the year chosen specifically for 2023 by some of the biggest paint brands.
Raspberry Blush
A brilliant shade of red-orange bordering on coral with a splash of pink, Benjamin Moore’s Raspberry Blush (2008-30) is a color that demands your full attention.
Benjamin Moore partnered with the electro-funk music duo Chromeo for the song “Raspberry Blush,” which celebrates the positive emotions inspired by both color and music. The company created its Color Trends 2023 palette — a collection of eight hues that includes Raspberry Blush — to highlight optimism, inspiration and creativity.
Blank Canvas
Blank Canvas (DC-003) from Behr Paint Co. is a soft white hue with a slightly warm undertone. Behr envisions Blank Canvas as the perfect shade to pair with warm and cool tones without the starkness that comes from a bright white wall.
Vining Ivy
PPG’s Vining Ivy (PPG1148-6) is a deep aqua paint color with a turquoise undertone.
PPG chose Vining Ivy as its 2023 color of the year because it’s both invigorating and grounding. It’s also versatile, pairing well with dark woods and metallic accents, whether in a corporate office or your home oasis.
Darkroom
Darkroom (HGSW7083) is a black shade with purple undertones. HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams chose this new neutral as the brand’s color of the year for its ability to create comforting elegance in modern interiors.
Darkroom is part of HGTV Home by Sherwin-Williams’ 2023 Color Collection of the Year, called the Vintage Homestead Color Collection.
Rustic Greige
Rustic Greige (404-4DB) is a neutral color that has a slight red undertone. Dutch Boy Paints uses this lightly washed-looking neutral as the “grounding color” for its three 2023 color palettes: Plush Palette, Wistful Palette and Botanic Palette.
Terra Rosa
Terra Rosa (DE5096) is a cinnamon rosy pink hue with touches of terracotta that is designed to work both as a neutral and as a statement color. It evokes the warmth of earthen and terracotta hues infused with the brightness of rosy pink tones.
Dunn-Edwards says Terra Rosa is inspired by nature, local materials and locally handcrafted items.
Redend Point
Sherwin-Williams’ Redend Point (SW 9081) is a beige color with faint blush undertones that is designed to blend well with earthen color palettes. It is part of Sherwin-Williams’ 2023 Colormix Forecast, which the company says “celebrates restorative energy, well-being and kindness.”
